Gym Floor Covers Glossary:
Filament Size — Industry standard measurement for the weight of the yarn used to weave the fabric.
Weave Count — Number of strands of yarn there are in one inch in each direction of the fabric.
Tear Strength — Amount of force required to tear the material beyond the intentionally cut slit.
Tensile Strength — Amount of force required to pull the material apart by machines. It is similar to tear strength, except there is no initial slit in the material.
Adhesion — Amount of force needed to peel the vinyl coating off of the fabric core. Note that coated materials have high adhesion, while laminates have low adhesion.
Hydrostatic resistance — Test to measure at what point a jet of water will penetrate through the material.
